Major Duties
At the entry level of this position you will:
- Provide oversight and direction of the Region 5 QA program and implement the Region 5 Quality Management Plan (QMP).
- Consult with project managers and field teams to provide technical expertise and authoritative advice on complex chemistry and quality
assurance related issues. - Conduct periodic quality system assessments and communicate findings orally and in written reports.
- Identify QA training needs and provide QA training.

Qualifications
You need a degree or combination of education and experience as described below to qualify for this position.In addition to the educational requirements, we are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:To qualify for the GS-11 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-09 level defined as performing quality control and quality assurance assessments on environmental data; and developing quality assurance project plans and/or QA sections of scientific reports. - OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduateeducation leading to such a degree in the academic discipline as described below.OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of field and/or laboratory environmental sampling procedures analytical methodologies.
Skill in applying quality control procedures and requirements associated with environmental data collection activities.
Skill in written communication.

Pay Range
$70,987.00 - $92,281.00
