Job Summary

Fort Leonard Wood, in the beautiful South Central Missouri Ozarks, covers more than 61,000 acres. The fort is located in Pulaski County. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville and St. Robert. The post is two miles South of Interstate 44. St. Louis is a two hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield, MO is a little more than an hour's drive to the West.

Major Duties

  • Serves as team leader for scope development on small projects and for contract administration of assigned construction within Resident Office.
  • Provides day-to-day direction for lower graded engineers, construction representatives and/or technicians concerning operations of the team.
  • Performs Office Engineering duties to include review of shop drawings, official contract correspondence, evaluation of progress schedules, and processing of progress payments.
  • Performs any and all work in support of contract modifications to include scope development and preparation, estimate preparation under small acquisition threshold, technical and cost review of proposals.
  • Negotiate with Contractor, and preparers all official documentation supporting and including actual modification.
  • Performs analysis of claims, if received, on assigned work to include justification, reasonableness, and schedule analysis.
  • Actively participates in design review conferences to include reviewing preliminary plans and specifications utilizing engineering knowledge and background to identify problems/concerns.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify for the GS-12: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1.) Performing office engineering review of drawings, preparing response to contractor inquiries and modifications, and/or 2.) Scope development, estimating, negotiation, and technical writing and/or 3.) Evaluation of project progress schedules, and performing work in support of contract.

$77,501.00 - $100,756.00
