Job Summary
You will serve as a Civil Engineer in the Capital Improvements Business Line, Public Works Department, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, of Naval Facilities Engineering Command Mid-Atlantic.
Major Duties
- You will serve as a senior Civil Engineer providing design and technical expertise.
- You will prepare working drawings and technical specs/cost estimates for the civil engineering portion of large and complex military construction projects for new and existing facilities.
- You will prepare or direct preliminary and final complex design studies, establish design criteria, and outline the detailed design scope of large projects.
- You will apply proficiency in both Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build delivery methods for projects.
- You will develop and implement project acquisition and execution plans to ensure selection of the best contract vehicle and timely completion of all phases of project work.
- You will be responsible for project management from design authorization to project closeout.
- You will prepare detailed labor and material cost estimates for use in obtaining project funding and for bid evaluation.
Qualifications
Selective Placement Factor (SPF): This position has an SPF which is current registration as a Professional Engineer in any state, District of Columbia, Guam or Puerto Rico. If you meet this requirement, you must provide a copy of your current registration with your application. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing services for civil engineering projects involving planning, design, construction and maintenance of facilities, coordinating with NAVFAC Technical Discipline Coordinators, Managers, and Leader (TDCs/TDMs/TDL) on civil engineering matters. Pay Range
$91,671.00 - $119,176.00
