Job Summary
You will serve as a CIVIL ENGINEER in the Business Directorate, Capital Improvements (CI), Engineering and Design, Civil Engineering of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.
Major Duties
- You will evaluate engineering and architectural designs, drawings, specifications, and supporting documents to ensure feasibility, compatibility with other work, and effectiveness in meeting requirements.
- You will use computer aided design and drafting software (e.g., AUTOCAD) to prepare concept designs, final working drawings and engineering calculations.
- You will oversee multi-disciplinary teams on project management directives to ensure successful project execution within construction standards.
- You will establish methods and systems to monitor construction progress reporting.
- You will conduct pre-construction conferences with contractors, designers, and activities to discuss technical or design aspects and challenges.
- You will prepare working drawings and specifications to comply with the scope of work and criteria for civil or structural work.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Create design plans, specifications and calculations for both repairs and new construction;2) Review and provide guidance or recommendations for construction product submittals; 3) Develop complex designs and analyses utilizing advanced civil engineering software (i.e. Whole Building Design Guide, PCASE, SpecsIntact and Civil3D); 4) Perform reviews of plans and specifications of projects prepared by both In-House engineers and engineers from outside A/E firms; and 5) Provide on-site recommendations and best practice guidance to both Government field teams and construction contractors. Pay Range
$102,663.00 - $133,465.00
