Job Summary

Major Duties

  • You will perform design analysis and calculations for civil projects.
  • You will prepare final detailed working drawings, comparative cost analysis, Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and project specifications for a wide variety of facility types.
  • You will resolve design review comments with architectural and engineering (A/E) design firms to correct deficiencies.
  • You will identify areas of risk associated with design and contruction projects to develop mitigation strategies or alternatives.

Qualifications

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Registration as Professional Engineer (PE) in the discipline of civil engineering. In addition to the Basic Eduction Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying the theories, concepts, principles and practices of civil engineering for the planning, design, construction and maintenance of a wide range of shore based engineering projects (e.g., site developments, roads, airfields, water supply, sewer systems, drainage, dregding, waste facilities, shore protection, and other large/industrial civil engineering projects); 2) Using advanced AutoCAD and civil design/analysis software to develop design drawings and specifications; 3) Assists with tracking the progress of projects to ensure they are kept within construction budgets. Pay Range

$84,785.00 - $110,224.00
