Job Summary

Major Duties

  • You will develop complex designs and analyses utilizing advanced civil engineering software.
  • You will perform Quality Control reviews of projects prepared by in-house engineers and architects.
  • You will perform Quality Assurance reviews of drawings, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, and studies prepared by private architectural and engineering (A/E) design firms.
  • You will provide post construction award services (PCAS) including review and approval of contractor's submittals to determine conformance to requirements of contract drawings and specifications.
  • You will prepare statements of work, government estimates of fee, develop pre-negotiation position, assist in negotiations, and serve as the Contracting Officer's Representative for projects designed by private architectural and engineering contract.
  • You will serve as a Design Manager, performing technical administration of designs, design management, and coordination efforts with other engineers and architects involved in multi-discipline projects.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Independently preparing engineering calculations in support of designs for new construction and renovation projects (i.e., portable water, sewer, and stormwater drainage systems); 2) Independently developing design drawings for a wide range of facility projects utilizing AutoCad and other relevant civil design/analysis software; 3) Independently preparing engineering statements of work and fee estimates for project designs; and 4) Ensuring projects follow specifications, criteria, policy, industry codes and standards, and standard practices as related to civil engineering design, including the International Building Code. Pay Range

$81,315.00 - $105,053.00
