Job Summary

You will serve as a CIVIL ENGINEER (STRUCTURAL) in the NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND. This position serves as a technical expert providing engineering and design services to all activities and tenets for a broad range of facilities ranging from administrative and housing facilities to industrial and operational facilities.

Major Duties

  • You will evaluate engineering and architectural designs, drawings, specifications, and supporting documents to ensure feasibility, compatibility with other work, and effectiveness in meeting requirements.
  • You will analyze structural needs to determine types of facilities or systems most suitable to meet specific structure requirements.
  • You will direct large scale construction projects with multiple types of contractual work being performed simultaneously.
  • You will coordinate the development of construction drawings and specifications for civil or structural engineering systems.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing engineering drawings, technical specifications and studies for the structural portion of civil engineering facility design projects; 2) Developing innovative solutions for structural engineering problems not readily treated by conventionally accepted methods; 3) Performing field investigations to verify and document existing structural conditions as a basis for the design of facility projects; 4) Managing structural engineering facilities projects from cradle to grave with adherence to budget, schedule and quality standards. This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Current registration as a Professional Engineer by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico is required. Pay Range

$99,172.00 - $128,920.00
