Job Summary

Major Duties

  • You will assit in performing design analyses and calculations for structural projects.
  • You will assist in collecting all pertinent data and refine or develop project scope by inspection of existing conditions and throug meetings with sponsoring activity.
  • You will assist in preparing statements of work, government estimates of fee, developing pre-negotiation position and assist in negotiations.
  • You will assist in identifying areas or risk associated with design and construction and developing mitigation strategies or alternatives.
  • You will assist in preparing correspondence, reports, and economic analyses.
  • You will assist in preparing written and oral presentations regarding structural-related topics.
  • You will use computer aided design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD) to prepare concept designs, final working drawings, and engineering calculations

Qualifications

GS-09: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1.) Assist higher graded employees, individually or as a team member by performing procedural and technical work; 2) Perform medium level complexity in-house design projects under the mentorship of a licensed Civil/Structural Engineer; 3) Perform design analyses and calculations for structural projects. 4) Develop designs and analyses utilizing advanced structural engineering software; and 5) Perform site investigations to project sites to collect all pertinent data. OR GS-11: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience as a professional civil engineer at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Working alongside other structural/civil engineers to provide structural engineering products, services, and consultation for facilities planning, design, construction, and maintenance; 2) Completing structural engineering assignments in accordance with specifications, criteria, policy, industry codes and standards; and 3) Developing designs and analyses utilizing structural engineering

Pay Range

$57,809.00 - $97,179.00
