Job Summary
You will serve as a Civil Engineer (Structural) in the Capital Improvements Division of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.
Major Duties
- You will represent NAVFAC in conferences with project stakeholders and collaborates with other engineering and architectural disciplines to ensure system coordination and integration with specific project requirements.
- You will act as final authority on scope compliance and resolves design review comments with the A/E firm to correct deficiencies.
- You will develop complex designs and analyses utilizing advanced structural engineering software.
- You will serve as technical expert and provides engineering and design services to all activities and tenants for a broad range of facilities, served by NAVFAC.
Qualifications
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Current registration as a Professional Engineer by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico is required. NOTE: YOU MUST INCLUDE A COPY OF YOUR REGISTRATION WITH YOUR APPLICATION. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing engineering drawings, technical specifications and studies for the structural portion of civil engineering facility design projects; 2) Developing innovative solutions for structural engineering problems not readily treated by conventionally accepted methods; 3) Performing field investigations to verify and document existing structural conditions as a basis for the design of facility projects; 4) Managing structural engineering facilities projects from cradle to grave with adherence to budget, schedule and quality standards. Pay Range
$104,182.00 - $135,440.00
