Job Summary

You will serve as the Director, Naval Center for Space Technology (NCST) at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) providing executive direction and leadership to the Center.
Major Duties
- You will maintain a constant awareness of the state-of-the-art in both the space and terrestrial segments, requiring extensive interaction with other NRL divisions, other government agencies, and the aerospace industry.
- You will provide reviews and briefings for top Navy and Department of Defense management and national authorities.
- You will obtain support for Center programs stimulating interest and activity on the part of the Center personnel.
- You will serve as a national authority figure on matters relating to naval space technology to the Navy, other departments of the Government and allied foreign governments.
- You will engage with ranking officials of the Laboratory, with the chiefs of major technical units of the Department of Defense and industrial organizations and is expected to have international recognition in naval space technology.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: Applicants will be assessed against qualifications which fall into two areas: Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) and Mandatory Technical Qualifications (MTQs). 5) Building Coalitions: This core qualification involves the ability to build coalitions internally and with other Federal agencies, state and local governments, nonprofit and private sector organizations, foreign governments, or international organizations to achieve common goals. MANDATORY TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Each must be addressed separately in your Supplemental Narrative Statement. Each MTQ must not exceed 2 pages.) 1. Knowledge of spacecraft and spacecraft systems design and development with specialization in satellite mechanical systems and Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems. 2. Ability to couple space science research, development and engineering activities to the Navy and national program needs. 3. Ability to develop and analyze technical program proposals, advanced concept studies and analyses, and then to "market" those proposals to sponsoring activities and executive-level managements. Pay Range
$168,165.00 - $192,300.00
