Job Summary

DON Recent Graduates Program You will serve as a PHYSICAL SCIENTIST in the Geospatial Analysis and Production Branch, Geospatial Analysis and Support Division,Warfighting Support Center of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.

Major Duties

  • You will serves as GIS analyst assisting in the scientific and technical evaluation, correlation, data fusion and presentation of complex oceanographic data and GIS product generation.
  • You will prepare maps and data records while maintaining the technical adequacy of data analysis required to produce fleet productions.
  • You will develop and coordinate digital GIS schemas, layers and data bases, oceanographic and geospatial modeling and spatial analysis utilizing state-of-the art methods, practices, techniques and equipment.
  • You will assist in evaluation, development, adaptation and customization of ArcGIS utilizing ArcPy for capture, conversion and maintenance procedures related to GIS.
  • You will evaluate the availability and technical adequacy of existing digital data and that generated by other government agencies.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Specialized Experieince:. Compiling and integrating scientific data from various sources into cartographically correct GIS products. Applying the principles and techniques of oceanography, geology, hydrology and other physical sciences for web data service creation. Writing and presenting scientific reports or papers. Performing GIS analysis, geodatabase design, custom workflow programming in support of senior analyst, developers, and scientist. Pay Range

$42,053.00 - $54,670.00
