Job Summary

DON Recent Graduates Program You will serve as a Oceanogapher, Physical Scientist, or Geophysicist in the Hydrographic Mission Readiness Branch (NP411), Survey Support Division (NP41), Hydrographic Department (NP4), Naval Oceanographic Office of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.

Major Duties

  • You will perform scientific work to support a senior scientist or work as a team member on projects.
  • You will assist with processing, editing, and reviewing hydrographic, bathymetric or geospatial survey data.
  • You will assist with compiling and integrating hydrographic, bathymetric, geospatial, and METOC data from various sources into a final product.
  • You will assist with database loading and data cataloging.
  • You will assist in the collection, processing, reviewing, and evaluating hydrographic, bathymetric, oceanographic and geodetic data during periods of travel while being a member of the survey team.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying the principles of the physical sciences and mathematics to the acquisition, analyzation and dissemination of physical (physics), hydrographic, bathymetric, oceanographic, geophysical, or geological data. Using installed hardware and associated software to participate in the collection of physical, hydrographic, bathymetric, oceanographic, geological and geophysical data. Using provided software and algorithms to clean, apply correctors, and analyze physical, hydrographic, bathymetric, oceanographic, geological and geophysical data. Pay Range

$42,053.00 - $54,670.00
