GS-11:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes use professional knowledge of the principles, techniques and methodologies of biology and the application of current environmental legislation to Federal activities; position conducts environmental studies and prepares environmental assessments within the scope of the National Environmental Policy Act ; drafts statements of work and estimated costs for professional service contacts and monitors contractors' progress.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience interpreting and implementing environmental and cultural resource laws, executive orders, regulations, and policies, including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA); Planning, coordinating, and scheduling water resources studies with emphasis on flood damage reduction, navigation, and environmental/ecosystem restoration; Providing technical guidance to interdisciplinary teams to avoid and minimize impacts to environmental and cultural resources; Preparing work schedules and study information to ensure identified objectives are met; Coordinating public involvement and stakeholder engagement and contributing to open communication with the public. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service which includes developing, planning and reviewing data for use in engineering design and investigations; preparing detailed safety plans, technical investigation reports, and specifications related to planning, design and/or construction activities for flood risk management, navigation, and/or recreation restoration/enhancement projects; utilizing computer aided drafting (CAD) systems to develop designs and drawings. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes collecting and analyzing engineering data to solve problems, develop reports, and provide recommendations interpreting, and carrying out engineering assignments related to planning, design and/or construction activities for flood risk management, navigation, and/or recreation restoration/enhancement projects; providing advisory and technical services in the engineering, planning and design process; utilizing computer aided drafting (CAD) systems and 3D modeling software to develop designs, plans, views, cross sections, details, drawing sets, and quantity calculations. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing the exploration, sampling and testing of materials independently or as a part of a team at project sites; preparing appropriate portions of plans, specifications, design memoranda and various other reports; and assisting in the characterization of a site by development of a geologic model, stratigraphic column, cross-sections, structural contours, and/or rose diagrams.
GS-12:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes serving as a project Geologist engaged in the performance of investigations and resolutions of geological aspects of civil works and military project design, construction, operation and maintenance. Analyzes and interprets soil and rock data from laboratory and field tests, instrumentation, logs of borings and data secured by reconnaissance of project area. Prepares and assists higher-grade engineers and geologists in the development of foundation reports, design memoranda, design analysis, survey reports and embankment reports. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience in geographic methods, practices and techniques, to perform duties in planning, coordinating and developing digital GIS schemas, layer and databases; developing geo-referenced digital databases for use as graphic thematic displays; for incorporation into GIS databases for attribution and analyses, and for inclusion into other existing databases; experience working with digital cartographic data for incorporation into GIS databases.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience performing duties that require the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), mapping software, and the performance of geospatial analysis; supporting civil and military construction efforts by producing site reports covering topics such as hydrology, geology, and soil characteristics; and utilizing consolidated information to provide answers or responses to requests for information in support of military and civil construction effort.
Pay Range
$64,009.00 - $110,614.00
