Job Summary

This position is being filled under the Expedited Hiring Authority (EHA) for Defense Acquisition Workforce Positions in accordance with 10 USC § 1705(g).

Major Duties

  • This announcement will be utilized to fill vacancies at the GS-5, GS-7, GS-9, or GS-11 level as vacancies occur.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant education and experience. In addition to meeting the basic education requirement, to qualify you must also meet the requirements listed:

Engineering:

GS-5: Basic Ed. Requirement

GS-7: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level which includes experience applying basic methods and technical engineering techniques to develop engineering products for civil works projects, specific to the technical discipline under consideration (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering) or Architect.

GS-9: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level which includes experience applying advanced methods and technical engineering techniques to develop engineering products for civil works projects, specific to the technical discipline under consideration (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Architecture).

GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service which includes developing, planning and reviewing environmental site investigations and remediations; and preparing detailed safety plans, technical investigation reports and specifications related to planning, design and/or construction activities where environmental factors are of concern. Geologist:

GS-5: Basic Ed. Requirement

GS-7: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level which includes taking samples; handling various types of instruments and equipment; reporting findings orally and in writing; performing field work which includes technical observance of exploration and classification of geologic materials in accordance with field manual; field mapping; and interpretation of data.

GS-9: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level which includes performing geological studies and preliminary analyses; performing calculations and applying correction factors; plotting of preliminary prediction values for portions of larger studies; identifying fossils, rock samples, and determining extent of formations.

GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing the exploration, sampling and testing of materials independently or as a part of a team at project sites; preparing appropriate portions of plans, specifications, design memoranda and various other reports; and assisting in the characterization of a site by development of a geologic model, stratigraphic column, cross-sections, structural contours, and/or rose diagrams. Biologist: GS-5: Basic Ed. Requirement

GS-7: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level which includes using standardized biological practices, principles, and techniques sufficient to assist in the recommendations of planning and implementing environmental, recreational, and natural resource management activities at a water resources project.

GS-9: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level which includes using standardized biological practices, principles and techniques in the planning and implementing environmental, recreational and natural resource management activities at a water resources project; experience in natural resource management and related laws, policies and regulations as it pertains to biodiversity, threatened and endangered species, wetland protection, cultural resources and agricultural lease program.

GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service which includes use professional knowledge of the principles, techniques and methodologies of biology and the application of current environmental legislation to Federal activities; position conducts environmental studies and prepares environmental assessments within the scope of the National Environmental Policy Act; drafts statements of work and estimated costs for professional service contacts and monitors contractors' progress Geographer:

GS-5: Basic Ed. Requirement

GS-7: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level which includes compiling geographic facts from a variety of specified sources (i.e. drawing from specified maps, charts, and other source materials) in accordance with established procedures and criteria; ascertaining discrepancies in data and remedying simpler ones; and utilizing a variety of basic geographic tools and sources.

GS-9: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level which includes experience developing geo-referenced digital databases for use as graphic thematic displays; for incorporation into GIS databases for attribution and analyses, and for inclusion into other existing databases; experience working with digital cartographic data for incorporation into GIS databases.

GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience in geographic methods, practices and techniques, to perform duties in planning, coordinating and developing digital GIS schemas, layer and databases; developing geo-referenced digital databases for use as graphic thematic displays; for incorporation into GIS databases for attribution and analyses, and for inclusion into other existing databases; experience working with digital cartographic data for incorporation into GIS databases. Mathematics/Statistics:

GS-5: Basic Ed. Requirement

GS-7: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level which includes statistical work such as preparing cross tabulations or frequency listings of selected variables; and/or analyzing factual information and recognizing significant factors, relationships, and trends.

GS-9: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level which includes sampling, collecting, computing, and analyzing statistical data, and applying known statistical techniques to data such as measurement of central tendency, dispersion, skewness, sampling error, simple and multiple correlation, analysis of variance, and tests of significance.

GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing statistical work such as preparing cross tabulations or frequency listing of selected variables; analyzing factual information and recognizing significant factors, relationships or trends; train employees on processes and its related software; establish and enforce project standards.

Pay Range

$34,916.00 - $92,281.00
