Job Summary
You will serve as a ENGINEER in the ENERGETICS MANUFACTURING, EXPLOSIVES & ENERGETICS DIVISION AND CHEMICALS DEVELOPMENT & MANUFACTURING BRANCH of NAVSURFWARCEN IHEODTECHDIV. This position is equivalent to the GS-14/15 level. The full performance level is equivalent to the GS-14/15 level.
Major Duties
- You will perform as the technical expert for critical chemical process hazard analysis and occupational safety.
- You will ensure projects meet technical requirements.
- You will develop plans and techniques to fit new situations to improve overall program policies; establish precedents in application of problem-solving techniques to enhance existing processes.
- You will provide leadership to ensure program objectives are met.
- You will coordinate the efforts of technical area experts to assist with the technical aspects of the projects and help address technical issues
- You will communicate project or program results to all levels, internally and externally.
- You will mentor and train junior chemical engineers in the technical aspects of chemical synthesis, processing, purification, and chemical documentation.
- You will provides technical directions and leadership in the development and scale up of robust and cost effective processes for critical chemical energetics.
- You will develop, manufacture, and safe scale-up of all types of critical chemicals and energetics.
- You will increase novel energetics processing performance and reduce sensitivity for incorporation in explosive and propellant formulation.
- You will provide advanced engineering technical techniques in chemical synthesis, or heat and mass transfers, material processing, cooling and heating control systems.
- You will have directly interface with Departments, Customers Advocate, and Technical Director Leadership within the command.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12/13 grade level or pay band ND-04 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional lead Engineer/Scientist overseeing the development, manufacture, and safe scale-up of all types of critical chemicals and energetics in support of the mission. Pay Range
$99,172.00 - $166,500.00
