Job Summary

You will serve as senior Machine Learning Research Scientist of NAVSURFWARFCTR PANAMA CITY DIVISION.

Major Duties

  • You will provide effective technical leadership in Machine Learning and/or Artificial Intelligence to diverse groups of scientists, engineers and technicians
  • You will communicate, both orally and in writing, with personnel all levels, both military and civilian, and document research findings in the form of reports or scholarly articles for presentation at technical meetings/conferences and publication.
  • You will prepare and present executive-level briefings
  • You will provide leadership, technical direction, and mentorship to peers.
  • You will lead a diverse team of scientists, engineers and technicians in conducting original research in machine learning technology and algorithm development for complex warfare systems.
  • You will lead the development of a roadmap to address machine learning and ATR technology gaps to include the development of an investment strategy for Science and Technology investments and initiatives.
  • You will lead the development of successfully funded research proposals to support machine learning and ATR technology development.
  • You apply machine learning techniques to automatic target recognition or other classification problems.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (ND-04; GS-12/13 equivalent) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer or scientist conducting research and analysis in the fields of Machine Learning and/or Artificial Intelligence. Examples of qualified experience may include: developing signal and image processing algorithms; machine learning algorithms; and designing and implementing automated target recognition (ATR) technology. Pay Range

$91,231.00 - $164,858.00
