Job Summary

You will serve as an ENGINEER or SCIENTIST in the SPECIAL WARFARE & EXPEDITIONARY SYSTEMS DEPARTMENT, (JX), ELECTRO-OPTIC TECHNOLOGY DIVISION-(JXQ) ,MARITIME TARGETING ELECTRO-OPTIC SYSTEMS BRANCH of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.

Major Duties

  • You will serve as the Fire Control Chief Engineer for the Electro-Optic Technology Division (EOTD), Maritime Targeting EO Systems Branch.
  • You will provide leadership for Electro Optics (EO), Infrared (IR), and Laser technologies including Target Location Accuracy, Tracking, Line of Sight (LOS), Stabilization, and Lasers.
  • You will keep abreast of technical achievements within and outside the agency and other nations and evaluate applicability to Navy programs.
  • You will be a recognized expert in EO/IR Targeting technologies and will serve as a consultant by NSWC Crane on EO/IR Targeting technical issues and decisions.
  • You will provide expertise related to testing and evaluation of EO/IR Targeting Systems
  • You will develop collaborative relationships with EO/IR organizations such as The Office of Naval Research (ONR), The Naval Research Lab (NRL) and The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA),
  • You will prepare technical documents as appropriate.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 pay band or GS 13/14 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer providing technical leadership and technology expertise to support Electro-Optics and Infrared Fire control systems Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website:

Pay Range

$91,231.00 - $164,858.00
