Job Summary

You will serve as a Engineer/Scientist in the Human Systems Research & Development Branch of NAVSURFWARCENDLD.

Major Duties

  • You will provide technical leadership and guidance to scientists and engineers supporting human and autonomous systems activities.
  • You will provide technical subject matter expertise in key scientific areas such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, future combat systems, virtual and augmented reality, and human/machine interaction.
  • You will be responsible for understanding Naval Combat Systems and ability to plan Research and Development proposals that tie human systems Research and Development to gaps in current combat systems.
  • You will provide guidance on DoD Research and Development and identify new technology, ways to improve current operations, and incorporate new system capabilities that are replacing legacy requirements.
  • You will plan, coordinate, and manage project and team resources, providing technical leadership in a specialty area that applies to a wide variety of situations, uses, and problems to accomplish the NSWCDD mission, strategic goals and objectives.
  • You will effectively lead Human Systems Engineering interests at meetings and reviews.
  • You will manage complex technical projects (planning, task tracking and oversight, risk management, contract management and cost), which contribute to strategic goals and objectives.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND 04 pay band (GS 12/13 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: A professional Engineer or Scientist applying Human Systems Engineering principals or methods for research and development associated with combat systems. Examples of qualifying experience may include: Providing technical leadership and guidance to scientists and engineers supporting human and autonomous systems activities; providing technical subject matter expertise in key scientific areas such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, future combat systems, virtual and augmented reality, and human/machine interaction; planning R&D proposals that tie human systems R&D to gaps in current combat systems. Pay Range

$96,089.00 - $166,500.00
