Job Summary
The selectee for this position will serve as a Senior Environmental Engineer in the Water and Wastewater Section of the Environmental Compliance Product Line of the Environmental Business Line of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND PAC. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 10.28% will be added to the stated salary. This position is eligible for full time telework. Your pay will depend on your geographic location. This temporary appointment is intended not to exceed 3 years.
Major Duties
- You will review military construction and special projects and provide comments relative to environmental and water and wastewater utility requirements.
- You will issue directives, correspondence and messages to ensure activities are aware of the latest regulations, standards, criteria and requirements that impact potable water, wastewater, oily waste and Army Corps of Engineers permitting programs.
- You will coordinate identification of technical requirements for the project with the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Island Joint Military Training (CJMT) Project Manager and the lead CJMT National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Planner.
- You will identify conflicts and inconsistencies between the environmental compliance requirements and the design/construction requirements and coordinates the implementation of corrective actions with the CJMT Project Manager.
- You will provide or assist in providing authoritative advice on all matters within the area of environmental compliance in support of the CJMT Program.
Qualifications
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). Your license or registration must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to the Selective Placement Factor for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing technical consultation to a command regarding potable water, wastewater, storm water, and/or National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permitting;
2) Utilizing advanced concepts, principles, and practices of environmental engineering to manage, oversee, and provide expert coordination and execution of environmental compliance products and services in support of military programs; and
3) Applying working knowledge of environmental engineering related fields such as chemistry, hydrology, geology, and microbiology to provide advice on the impact of an installations? activities on the public and environment involving matters directly or closely related to the Safe Drinking Water Act, Clean Water Act, and related environmental programs.

Pay Range
$94,071.00 - $122,296.00
