Job Summary

You will serve as an Environmental Engineer in the Range Sustainability Office of the Ranges/Targets Operations & Labs group of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU. Position is dual hatted in this role supporting both NAWCWD and NAVAIR Leadership. ***This vacancy will either be filled in China Lake, California or Point Mugu, California.

Major Duties

  • You will be responsible for management and preparation of products and services associated with management and prevention of encroachment and environmental planning.
  • You will provide encroachment briefings to the public, governmental agencies, and other commands as required or requested.
  • You will apply expert knowledge of environmental regulations, plans, and associated instructions to directly support range leadership in achieving their missions objectives within the boundaries of environmental policy
  • You will work to ensure environmental compliance, reduce program risks, prevent potential environmental impacts and help maintain affordability.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DP-04 (GS-12/13) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing and preparing a wide variety of products and services associated with management and prevention of encroachment and environmental planning; 2) Providing encroachment briefings to the public, governmental agencies, and other commands as required or requested; 3) Representing the command in discussions with other Navy and DoD organizations, higher headquarters, elected officials, local citizenry, professional and local, regional, state and federal officials directly concerned with community planning and growth management strategies; 4) Applying knowledge of environmental regulations, plans, and associated instructions to directly support range leadership in achieving their mission objectives within the boundaries of environmental policy; working to ensure environmental compliance, reduce program risks, preventing potential environmental impacts and helping to maintain affordability. Pay Range

$123,111.00 - $170,800.00
