Job Summary

Major Duties

  • You will design industrial processes to reduce the generation of pollutants, or to reduce the toxicity of the pollutants generated.
  • You will develop written instructions for industrial process owners on local, state, federal, and other environmental requirements.
  • You will research the latest environmental control technology.
  • You will develop reports for submission to regulatory agencies.
  • You will negotiate environmental permit conditions with regulatory agencies.
  • You will develop plans that respond to releases of toxic substances.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Apply the latest environmental control technology to existing and upcoming industrial processes; 2) Apply environmental engineering concepts, principles, and practices to industrial processes to reduce the generation of pollutants, or to reduce the toxicity of the pollutants generated; 3) Research and advise others of local, state, federal, and other environmental requirements; and 4) Assess environmental impacts, develop contingency plans, plan containment strategies, and initiate cleanup actions for release of toxic substances. Pay Range

$84,045.00 - $109,264.00
