Job Summary
You will serve as a ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER (AIR QUALITY CONTROL in the Air Quality Section, Environmental Engineering Branch, Environmental Compliance Division, Environmental Security Department of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.
Major Duties
- You will review new and proposed regulations to remain knowledgeable about emerging environmental regulations, develop implementation guidance, and anticipate local impact.
- You will provide leadership and/or support to other Camp Pendleton directorates to ensure environmental compliance for radon management, asbestos abatement, smoke management, and vehicle inspections and maintenance (i.e. SMOG check) programs.
- You will plan, program, initiate, and oversee the implementation of environmentally funded studies and projects that are necessary to comply with emerging requirements, sustain or improve air quality compliance, and resolve noncompliance.
- You will liaise with environmental regulatory agencies to clarify regulatory requirements, engage on program issues, negotiate regulatory relief, and advocate mission support requirements.
- You will develop and track metrics to measure program efficacy and determine whether the program is meeting its intended goals and objectives.
- You will evaluate and quantify ambient air quality and account for emissions of Criteria Pollutants, Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPS), and Green House Gases (GHG).
Qualifications
Additional Requirements: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing environmental program management, coordination, and oversight to ensure compliance with environmental requirements for air quality control. Pay Range
$85,865.00 - $111,629.00
