Job Summary

Fort Hood rests in the beautiful 'hill and lake' country of Central Texas between Killeen and Copperas Cove and is approximately 60 miles north of the capital city of Austin, 50 miles south of Waco, 160 miles south of Dallas, and 150 miles north of San Antonio. Major Duties

  • Request equipment and/or supplies necessary to accomplish hazardous waste storage and disposal.
  • Respond to hazardous waste spills.
  • Collect samples and coordinate with laboratories for analysis.
  • Utilize equipment to process Petroleum, Oil, and Lubricants (POL) contaminated soils and/or absorbents for potential reuse or transfer to landfill.
  • Document the disposal procedures of hazardous materials and/or hazardous waste.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes collecting environmental waste samples for testing and documenting results for senior staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Pay Range

$42,053.00 - $54,670.00
