Job Summary

You will serve as a ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION ASSISTANT (OA) in the FACILITIES MAINTENANCE CONTROL BRANCH of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON. **This announcement uses the Temporary Direct Hiring Authority for Certain Competitive Service Positions direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.**

Major Duties

  • You will conduct audits and assessments to ensure each entity, event, military unit and workplace is participating effectively in the Base Recycling Program.
  • You will monitor proper use of recycling bins, carts, containers and dumpsters and initiate corrective action.
  • You will respond to questions based on knowledge of rules, regulations, procedures and program requirements of the solid waste management program from research of resource material.
  • You will provide advice regarding waste reduction, waste management and recycling techniques.
  • You will collect data on waste generation, diversion, participation and draft reports regarding corrective actions taken, status of compliance and progress made in resolving deficiencies.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical and administrative support for a recycling program. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. Pay Range

$46,827.00 - $60,876.00
