Job Summary
You will serve as a Environmental Protection Specialist in the DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY. THIS IS AN EXPEDITED HIRING AUTHORITY ANNOUNCEMENT. The Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) FY 2009 provides that the Secretary of Defense can designate acquisition positions as shortage positions and recruit and appoint highly qualified persons to these positions.

Qualifications
FOR THE GS-05 (or equivalent pay band): You resume demonstrate you have at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. General experience assisting in environmental problems involving environmental protection; understanding environmental laws and regulations. FOR THE GS-07 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must demonstrate that you have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector inspecting hazardous waste sites, reviewing cases of pesticide violations. FOR THE GS-09 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must demonstrate that you have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing site inspections at hazardous waste disposal, determines compliance with applicable laws and regulations, reviewing documents, analyzing evidence. FOR THE GS-11 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must demonstrate that you have have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector preparing complex cases of environmental violations; conducts investigations. For the GS-12 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a performing site inspections, collecting data, reviewing documents, analyzing evidence, evaluating results, writing reports, recommending corrective action or procedures. FOR THE GS-13 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a preparing environmental reports, plans, and records; and coordinates environmental policies and directives with installation officials, customers, generating activities, etc. FOR THE GS-14 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public resolving complex technical, program or administrative problems and developing the deadlines, projects, and work to be done for environmental inspections (e.g., leading a team in inspecting various types of hazardous waste treatment and disposal facilities and evaluating operating practices). FOR THE GS-15 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a managing the hazardous material/waste, solid waste management, and resource recovery programs at a large military installation with a variety of industrial activities involving the maintenance or modification; making decisions , planning the work, refining existing criteria, or extending or modifying conventional methods and techniques. Pay Range
$33,949.00 - $166,500.00
