Job Summary
Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles south of Susanville, CA. Employees work a 4/10 work week, Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and daily child care available. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center, (Mass transportation is available at minimal cost.) Surrounding area boasts a full range of outdoor sports/recreation activities.
Major Duties
- Use environmental protection, regulations, policies, concepts and administrative practices.
- Plan, prepare, review and coordinate environmental information and data in writing and database.
- Follow and implement environmental procedures.
- Adhere to hazardous waste/materials management.
Qualifications
US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience GS-09: I have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service which includes manages or assists with one or more environmental programs such as: Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Wildlife, Natural/Cultural Resources, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-know Act, Pollution Prevention Act, Toxic Substance Control Act, Solid Waste Management and Water, Wastewater and Storm Water Programs.

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as biology, geology, chemistry, physics and sociology.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
