Job Summary
You will serve as a ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the ENVIRONMENT, SAFETY AND HEALTH DEPARTMENT of PSNS and IMF. You will serve in either the hazardous waste/hazardous materials branch or as a water and air permit negotiator and environmental project manager in the environmental planning and water compliance branch.
Major Duties
- You will direct cleanup and/or mitigate efforts, determine spill source and assist in the development of corrective action.
- You will review technical work documents for compliance with shipyard instructions and regulatory requirements.
- You will provide support to other organizations when requested to assist in the planning and resolving of compliance issues.
- You will identify training requirements for all personnel involved in the environmental program.
- You will represent the shipyard during public hearings, and regional planning and advisory committee meetings.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: evaluating environmental protection programs in an industrial environment to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and to recommend changes to control or eliminate potential or existing hazards or violations. Pay Range
$70,120.00 - $91,155.00
