MajorDuties

At the entry level of this position, you will:

- Develop and lead community relations activities to promote and disseminate children’s environmental health information based on various stakeholder groups' wants or needs.

- Prepare, review, and edit draft communication, outreach materials, articles and other public facing materials related to children’s health issues prior to publication.

- Prepare and review policy recommendations and technical proposals related to children's environmental protection.

- Serve on work-groups and teams for short and long-term projects.

- Serve as a Task Order manager, monitoring and overseeing the performance of the work assignments and providing the necessary governmental and technical direction to contractors.

When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses.

Qualifications

You do not need a degree to qualify for this position.We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:To qualify for the GS-12 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-11 level defined as providing technical advice on the integration of children’s environmental health into communities and schools; participating in the development and/or review process of policy and proposals related to children’s health protection.Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1)Ability to lead a project; 2)Skill in developing outreach strategies to disseminate information to the public; 3)Ability to prepare and edit briefings, fact sheets and other outreach materials; 4) Knowledge of environmental laws, Agency guidance, and statutory requirements related to children's health; 5) Ability to conduct qualitative analyses; 6)Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders; 7)Skill in oral communication; 8) Ability to serve as a technical contracting officer representative.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Pay Range

$86,335.00 - $112,240.00
