Job Summary

Major Duties

  • You will conduct inspections, inventories, record keeping, and environmental deficiency identification and tracking in support of environmental laws and regulations.
  • You will perform sampling of environmental media such as storm water or waste materials, and perform environmental surveys.
  • You will respond to spills of oil or hazardous substances, providing guidance for cleanup actions and reporting to regulatory agencies and Navy chain of command.
  • You will review documentation for environmental considerations and provisions for public involvement.
  • You will oversee multiple environmental protection programs (e.g., water pollution control, hazardous waste management, air pollution control program) to ensure compliance with requirements and regulations.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing environmental studies and investigations to evaluate compliance with environmental regulatory requirements; 2) Performing environmental spill response and remediation actions; 3) Responding to inquiries on matters concerning environmental compliance and prevention programs; 4) Applying for and maintaining environmental permits; 5) Preparing reports on environmental activities such as compliance audits, environmental sampling, spill response, or inspections. Pay Range

$64,009.00 - $83,210.00
