Job Summary

As an Environmental Protection Specialist you will be responsiblefor the planning, management, and direction of the facility environmental program for all GSA owned, operated and leased buildings within the Region.Location of Position:Public Buildings ServiceFacilities Management DivisionAtlanta, GAWe are currently filling onevacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.

Major Duties

You will be responsible for:

Quality control of the Workplace Environment elements of building operations and repair and alteration projects.
Keeping current with the latest developments in Workplace Environments and related disciplines by reviewing technical publications, attending technical conferences or professional society meetings, and discussions with industry representatives in which discussions are of national significance or are of outstanding importance to the Agency. Evaluates new technology and recommends adoption of those that would improve efficiency.

If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected. To qualify, you must haveone year of experience equivalent to the GS-12in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience in providingtechnical oversight, coordination, and management of environmental protection programs in areas such as: air and water quality, hazardous waste and materials management, oil and hazardous substance spills planning, environmental liabilities, fuel storage tank management, permitting and closure, identification management and mitigation of risks associated with toxic substances, and general environmental compliance. Experience must include the related technical evaluation and assessment for the following types of work projects: facility operations, new construction, renovation and demolition.

Pay Range

$93,282.00 - $121,264.00
