Job Summary
This position is in the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention, Office of Pesticide Programs, Field and External Affairs Division, Communication Services Branch. If selected, you must work at the location stated in this announcement. About OCSPP:OCSPP
Major Duties
You will:
-Develop strategies and materials for communicating Office of Pesticide Programs' regulatory decisions and programmatic information to affected and interested parties;
-Prepare communication materials for external audiences;
-Support communications by managing web content, leading social media campaigns, conducting outreach, leading internal
communications efforts, and participating in relevant work groups.
When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses.
You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.

Qualifications
You do not need a degree to qualify for this position.We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-12 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-11 level defined aspreparing materials to communicate regulatory decisions and/or programmatic information.
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined asdevelopingmaterials to communicate regulatory decisions and/or information related to pesticides or other scientific and/or environmental topics.
Your answers to the on-line assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:1)Ability to develop communication and outreach strategies; 2)Ability to develop communication materials; 3)Skill in written communication sufficient to explain science policy topics; 4) Skill in communication sufficient to respond to external parties; 5)Knowledge of web content that includes social media content.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Pay Range
$86,335.00 - $133,465.00
