Job Summary

This position is in the Office of Land and Emergency Management, Office of Superfund Remediation and Technology Innovation, Assessment and Remediation Division, Community Involvement and Program Initiatives Branch, located in Arlington, VA. Major Duties

At the entry level of this position, you will;

  • Contribute to the planning, development and implementation of the Superfund community involvement program, including participating in the formulation of policies and strategies, developing procedures and coordinating activities consistent with the Agency policy and mission.
  • Provide expert advice to EPA Regional and other Headquarters offices concerning implementation of the program and attendant policy and requirements.
  • Manage education and training activities for the Superfund community involvement program and organizes Superfund outreach efforts.
  • Develop and maintain coordination with other offices, agencies, and regional counterparts regarding community involvement in order to exchange information, solicit assistance on work, advise on or coordinate the development of Federal policies, or follow up to assure resolution of problems or issues.

You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.

When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses.

Qualifications

You do not need a degree to qualify for this position.We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:To qualify for the GS-12 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-11 level defined asexperience establishing goals and assessing progress toward their achievement.To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined as experience establishing goals and assessing progress toward their achievement; experience developing and completing project plans based on overall program priorities. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of law regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to the administration of the Superfund program.

Ability to think strategically in order to provide guidance and support to many audiences. Pay Range

$86,335.00 - $133,465.00
