These positions are in the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention, Office of Pesticide Programs, Field and External Affairs Division, Government and International Services Branch. MajorDuties
You will:
- As a technical authority, analyze proposed regulatory decisions to ensure compliance with policy;
- Manage review of pesticide registration submissions to ensure compliance with regulation and mitigate unacceptable risks;
- Provide guidance for development of national policies on registration of pesticide products;
- Represent the Agency's position on the registration of pesticides to internal and external audiences.

You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.

Qualifications
We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:To qualify for the GS-12 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-11 level defined as tracking, reviewing, and responding to domestic and international pesticide registrant submissions.To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined as evaluating submitted pesticide data in accordance with domestic and international regulatory requirements and mitigating hazards and/or risks of pesticides under review.Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1)Knowledge of federal, state and local pesticide regulation; 2)Skill in policy analysis; 3) Skill in project management; 4) Skill in oral communication; 5) Ability to establish positive customer service relationships; 6) Skill in policy development; 7) Skill in written communication; 8) Knowledge of environmental protection principles and regulations.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Pay Range
$86,335.00 - $133,465.00
