Major Duties
You will:
- Support the Division Director in developing and implementing the Sustainable Materials Management Program by providing analyses, innovative approaches, and strategic thinking.
- Direct development of measurement tools for attributing impact of Sustainable materials Management (SMM) programs, including definition of concept, design, data identification and oversight of production.
- Provide guidance and advice to the Agency's regulatory and policy development efforts by participating in agency workgroups.
- Represent the Agency with national sustainability organizations, including NGOs and corporate interests on sustainability initiatives related to Sustainable Materials Management (SMM), packaging and product design.
Qualifications
You do not need a degree to qualify for this position.We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-14 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-13 level defined as experience developing and implementing policies, regulations, guidance and program plans relating to the reduction, reuse, recovery and recycling of municipal, industrial and other wastes and the long-term sustainable management of these materials; experience identifying and analyzing data to develop national reports for relevant stakeholders- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: Skill in conducting complex evaluations, assessments, and impact analysis.
Skill in project management using measurement tools consistent with Agency, Office and Division goals and priorities.
Ability to work in groups developing national policies, guidance, and rule making options related to sustainability programs.
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing divergent interests to build consensus on sustainability initiatives. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Pay Range
$121,316.00 - $157,709.00
