Job Summary
You will serve as a ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the ENVIRONMENTAL DEPARTMENT of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE. Performs inspections and audits and may lead audit teams in evaluating command compliance status. Recommends and implements corrective actions. Keeps abreast of new/proposed developments in the field of environmental protection by conducting research of literature, to include regulatory/legislative issuances,
Major Duties
- You will advise management on environmental compliance of facilities and operations.
- You will coordinate environmental protection projects (e.g., pollution prevention, spill response, hazardous waste) to recommend and initiate corrective actions for compliance.
- You will analyze laboratory reports to determine the presence of hazardous environmental conditions and the degree of non-compliance with regulatory guidance.
- You will coordinate hazardous spill containment with federal and state regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Planning, implementing, and/or monitoring environmental programs and services by, determining needs and evaluating program effectiveness; 2) Solving complex problems resolving diverse aspects of environmental protection (e.g. performing investigations, inspections, or oversight activities); 3) Developing solutions to resolve specific environmental protection problems, projects, programs, or functions; and 4) Providing project execution compliance support (e.g. reviewing environmental protection plans, monitoring work) to ensure various environmental media (water, hazardous waste, spills, and/or air) program requirements are met. Pay Range
$62,236.00 - $80,912.00
