Job Summary

You will serve as a General Natural Resources Management and Biological Sciences professional in the DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY. THIS IS AN EXPEDITED HIRING AUTHORITY ANNOUNCEMENT. The Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) FY 2009 provides that the Secretary of Defense can designate acquisition positions as shortage positions and recruit and appoint highly qualified persons to these positions.

Qualifications

In addition to the basic education requirements, applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:

For GS-05 (or equivalent pay band): Applicants who meet the basic requirements described above are qualified for the specified entry grade for the GS-5 grade. For GS-07 ( or equivalent pay band): Your resume must also demonstrate that you have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector gathering data; as a professional Natural Resources and Biological Sciences Specialist applying basic principles, theories or practices by collecting and recording data and reporting observations. For GS-09 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must also demonstrate that you have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Natural Resources and Biological Sciences Specialist assisting in the studies to identify and resolve problems involving environmental impacts from commercial or industrial operations. For GS-11 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must also demonstrate that you have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Natural Resources and Biological Sciences Specialist performing investigations or analysis to identify and resolve problems involving environmental impacts from commercial or industrial operations. For GS-12(or equivalent pay band): Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Natural Resources and Biological Sciences Specialist conducting investigations, analysis or evaluations to develop environmental reports or impact statements. For GS-13 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Natural Resources and Biological Sciences Specialist supervising the development of new or improved techniques, criteria, or alternatives to meet environmental requirements involving natural resources, research problems, or issues. For GS-14 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a Professional Natural Resources and Biological Sciences Specialist managing critical problems impacting natural, biological or cultural resources (such as: forest, land or water). For GS-15 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a Professional Natural Resources and Biological Sciences Specialist overseeing the development of policies or strategies to ensure compliance with environmental or scientific laws. Pay Range

$33,949.00 - $166,500.00
