Job Summary

This position is located in the CTO, Office of Product Development, Banknote Equipment Manufacturer (BEM) Support Division.

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-11. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

-Conducts analyses and tests to confirm performance of developmental materials and security printing products to specifications.
-Provides support and solutions to development problems that includes collecting, analyzing and testing experimental materials, finished products, and by-products in support of development, procurement, and contract administration.
-Performs a variety of work and test procedures including those in high level of security such as currency new design, inks, paper, and durability testing.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:- Experience accounting for an inventory of samples from receipt to final disposition in accordance with organizational policies and procedures; AND - Experience communicating to achieve common objectives; AND - Experience using statistical analysis, data visualization and briefing techniques to communicate efficiently and clearly; AND - Experience following standard procedures using a range of laboratory equipment and or specialized equipment for printed products; AND - Experience supporting the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment to test printed products.ORYou may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows: 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.ORYou may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.

Specialized experience: For the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:- Experience accounting for an inventory of samples in accordance with organizational policies and procedures; AND - Writing reports that include analytical procedures, conditions, basic statistical analysis and results; AND - Experience following standard procedures to receive samples, test samples of printed products, analyze data and report results; AND - Experience maintaining laboratory areas, supplies, and equipment.ORYou may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows: 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree.ORYou may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.

Specialized experience: For the GS-07, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:- Experience documenting basic level technical analysis information; AND - Experience contributing to oral discussions/presentations and written fact sheets/reports; AND - Experience applying principles and concepts of general engineering and science in order to research, interpret and carry out assignments.ORYou may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows: 1 year of graduate-level education; or superior academic achievement.ORYou may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Pay Range

$48,670.00 - $93,638.00
