Job Summary
Senior geospatial and imagery analyst who has served as acting Team Lead of the Historical Photo Analysis Team in support of the USACE Formally Used Defense Sites (FUDS) and Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP). This position is with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Army Geospatial Center, Hydrologic and Environmental Branch in Alexandria, VA. This position will be filled on a permanent basis.
Major Duties
- Formulating and conducting analytical geospatial and advisory work directed at applying complex terrain and physical science information to historical photo analysis.
- Consider potential emerging technology and concepts and how it could apply to changing data applications.
- Find creative ways to dissemination varied terrain analyses over a global network.
- Acts as Contract Officer Representative (COTR) for the organization.
- Stays up-to-date on state-of-the-art technology and emerging scientific data in the geospatial field.

Basic Requirement for Geographer Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in geography; or related physical or social science such as geology, meteorology, economics, statistics, sociology, anthropology, political science, history, cartography, computer science, urban studies, or planning that included at least 24 semester hours in geography or related fields. OR Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major in geography, or a related field that included at least 24 semester hours in geography or related fields, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience, at the next lower grade (GS-11), Collect historical and recent imagery and other materials for analysis for the Historical Photo Analysis (HPA) program and for terrain analysis of Areas of Interest to the U.S. Government. Design and conduct tests of new production and analytical methodologies, techniques and systems. Familiar with research and collection of historical imagery, maps and documents at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) and other repositories to locate historical documents and imagery. Pay Range
$99,172.00 - $128,920.00
