Job Summary

You will serve as a Geographer in the Asset Management Branch within Public Works Department Sasebo of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD FAR EAST. This is a RE-ADVERTISEMENT of Announcement Number: ST-10636209-20-YL Applicants that have previously applied NEED to re-apply to this announcement.

Major Duties

  • You will independently provide Geographic Information Systems (GIS) products and services in accordance with the currently funded Common Output Level for all or a portion of the bases in the AOR assigned.
  • You will review and analyze issues and problems for all assigned installation and organization components to ensure extensive and complete merging of functional concerns affecting the accomplishment of projects.
  • You will establish plans for the effective utilization of remotely sensed data and GIS systems in the US Navy and DoD programs.
  • You will perform analysis of assigned GIS areas, which involve complex methodologies for which few or no precedents exist.
  • You will coordinate with a variety of US Navy and Regional Programs to gather requirements and identify potential GIS projects.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Geographer proving high level planning, development, implementation, monitoring and management of Geographic Information System (GIS) projects, GIS software implementation and GIS data. Pay Range

$64,490.00 - $83,840.00
