Job Summary

You will serve as a GEOLOGIST (Environmental Program Manager) in the ENVIRONMENTAL DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST. This position will serve as s Senior Environmental Professional responsible for managing and directing the command's environmental programs at two sites - Seal Beach and Fallbrook - and for assisting other sites and programs on an as needed basis. Responsible to plan, coordinate, direct and implement actions necessary to meet program and compliance requirements.

Major Duties

  • You will coordinate with higher environmental engineering and scientific authorities to provide products and services that attain environmental restoration compliance with set policies and regulations
  • You will execute clean-up projects to correct hazardous waste operation or maintenance practices that are not compliant with environmental regulations.
  • You will support regulatory requirements using knowledge of analytical methods and environmental geology.
  • You will implement investigative and cleanup procedures for munitions sites in support of a munitions response program.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conducting self-assessment's annually to ensure all program requirements are identified and determine the program's compliance effectiveness; 2) Developing and maintaining a current strategic plan to ensure all assessment findings are corrected and key program requirements and program objectives are met; 3) Effectively manages projects and timelines in support of activity's budget objectives; 4) Developing and communicating awareness programs of environmental program objectives and requirements; and 5) Managing investigation and clean-up projects associated with pollutants or contaminants as needed to support the Installation Restoration Program and the Munitions Response Program.**NOTE** This information must be clearly supported in your resume. Pay Range

$87,612.00 - $113,900.00
