Job Summary

Serves as an integrated suitability evaluator, performing a broad range of analyses for assigned systems and inherent Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) duties in support of Army Acquisition.

Major Duties

  • Integrated Product Support (IPS) Evaluation - conducts IPS planning, analyses and evaluations in accordance with AR 700-127 and AR 700-142; IPS includes sustainment; supply support; maintenance planning & management; packaging, handling, storage and transportation; technical data; support equipment; training & training support; manpower & personnel; facilities and infrastructure; and computer resources.
  • Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM) - conducts RAM planning, analysis and evaluation, to include reliability growth, and appropriate statistical and reliability engineering methods; implements RAM policy, standards, methodology and tools.
  • Employs research techniques in support of assigned analyses/evaluations; keeps abreast of developments in evaluation methodologies, systems analysis, and combat and training developments, with particular emphasis on areas relevant to assigned responsibilities.

To qualify based on your education/and or experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience. This definition of specialized experience is at the NH-02/GS-11 equivalent grade/pay band in the federal service, which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined by performing the following duties;

1) Planning test and evaluation strategies for assigned systems to address capability gaps; AND

2) Managing quantitative and/ or qualitative analysis to determine evaluation conclusions; AND

3) Analyzing optimized test plans that address areas of risk. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

A. I have successfully completed a full four-year professional engineering curriculum leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in engineering in an accredited college or university. The curriculum included differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. B. I have successfully completed a full four-year professional engineering curriculum leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in engineering from an accredited college or university that has an engineering curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). C. I have successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam (formerly known as the Engineer-in-Training or EIT), or the written test required for professional registration administered by the Boards of Engineering Examiners in the various States, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico. I have completed all the requirements for a bachelor's degree in engineering technology (BET) from an accredited college or university that included 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences, or I have completed a BET from an ABET accredited program. D. I am registered as a Professional Engineer in the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or any State in the United States. The registration is based on a written examination given by the State Board. (NOTE: You must provide a copy of your professional engineering license and college transcripts to support educational claims)

E. I have a combination of at least four years of college level education, training, and/or technical experience that included successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences, including the courses listed in paragraph "A" above. Course work completed is fully acceptable toward the requirements of a professional engineering curriculum. (NOTE: You must provide college transcripts to support educational claims)

F. I have successfully completed a four-year curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering technology or in a related scientific curriculum such as physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology; and, I have at least one year of professional engineering experience under the guidance and supervision of a professional engineer.

OR

Basic Educational Requirement- Physical Scientist-1301 (Transcripts Required)Degree: Physical Science, Engineering, or Mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.

OR

Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

OR

Basic Educational Requirement- Biological Science- 0401 (Transcripts Required) Degree: a full four year course of study in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (Transcripts are required)

OR

Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. (Transcripts are required)

Pay Range

$83,398.00 - $128,920.00
