Job Summary

You will serve as the Navy Regional Environmental Coordinator (REC) in the Environmental Business Line at Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southeast and support the Regional Commander in his role as the Navy On-Scene Coordinator (NOSC).

Major Duties

  • You will supervise, mentor and direct Navy On-Scene Coordinator (NOSC) and staff.
  • You will communicate and coordinate Navy environmental and sustainability policy with other federal and state agencies.
  • You will support the Navy mission and environmental compliance within the Navy Region Southeast.
  • You will assist in environmental policy development and outreach on behalf of DoD.
  • You will facilitate partnering and outreach initiatives between Navy and state/federal regulatory agencies, and other non-governmental agencies.
  • You will provide advice and assistance to military commanders regarding environmental needs to support mission requirements.
  • You will support the Regional Commander in the development and implementation of the Region's environmental goals and objectives.

Qualifications

Selective Placement Factor (SPF): If applying for this position as an Environmental Engineer (0819 series), you must have a current Professional Engineer (PE) registration in any state, District of Columbia, Guam or Puerto Rico. You must provide a copy of your current registration with your application. In addition to the Basic Education Requirements and SPF for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1)providing technical authority-level advice, counsel and problem solving to environmental program managers, executives, installation commanders, etc., on Federal environmental laws and regulations, including the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Toxic Substance Control Act, National Environmental Policy Act, Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act, as well as applicable state and regional laws; 2)assessing installation activities to determine their impact on public welfare/safety, ecology, natural resources; 3)communicating environmental strategic plans to management and staff, including the implementation steps/processes to achieve these plans. Pay Range

$107,807.00 - $140,146.00
