Job Summary
The Alaska District is seeking to fill a Risk Assessor/Toxicologist position in the Environmental and Special Programs Branch. An ideal candidate will have strong experience in preparing, reviewing and evaluating human health and ecological risk assessments using CERCLA guidance. A background in toxicology, risk assessment, chemistry, data analysis, statistics, and design of environmental investigations is required.
Major Duties
- This is a developmental position; duties listed below will be performed in a developmental capacity at the GS-12 grade level. At the full performance, GS-13, the incumbent will:
- Serves as the lead risk assessor in the Environmental and Special Programs Branch and recognized technical authority for the District on all human health and ecological risk assessment issues within the District's regional area of responsibility.
- Responsible for technical review or development of human health and ecological risk assessment aspects of documents for Alaska District HTRW projects and as an expert technical adviser to customers as requested.
- Provides expert technical guidance regarding current accepted risk assessment methodologies, policies and regulations applicable to HTRW and environmental activities undertaken by USACE.
- Serves as the expert source of chemical and radiological, toxicological, and health data for hazardous organic and inorganic substances and for the interpretation of complex data relative to individual chemicals and mixtures of chemicals.

Pay Range
$85,799.00 - $132,637.00
