Job Summary
Performs continuing developmental duties and assignments in relation to problems concerned with test and/or evaluation of a wide variety of military systems and equipment.
Major Duties
- Serves as a support engineer or scientist, performing instrumentation engineering, development, testing, or integration where established criteria and technical precedents are generally established.
- Completes small, relatively routine test projects or designated portions of larger, complex test projects encompassing one of the broad military equipment categories (ordnance, automotive, logistics, transportability, soldier systems, artillery, small arms, armor, mines, countermines, demolition, recoilless rifles, mortars, non-lethality weapons systems, ammunition, underwater explosives [UNDEX], shock, internal blast, live fire vulnerability/lethal and TSA)
- Reduces and analyzes test data, deriving conclusions from data, observations made during testing, and any additional technical information relevant to the test project. Prepares complete reports of test projects in the format prescribed by agency standards.

Your resume must clearly describe at least one year of your relevant experience, the definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-07. Specialized Experience is defined as;
1.Developing routine test projects encompassing military equipment, such as; ordnance, automotive, logistics, soldier systems or small arms; AND
2. Preparing reports on testing projects in the format prescribed by agency standards; AND
3. Conducting critical test phases to ensure safe and appropriate procedures are being employed. ***In addition to meeting the specialized experience, you must also meet the minimum/basic education requirement for this position. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

A. A bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research.
OR
B. A bachelor's degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. OR Basic Education Requirement for Mathematician- 1520
A. A bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in mathematics; or a degree with the equivalent of a major that included at least 24 semester hours in mathematics. My total course work includes differential and integral calculus and, in addition, four advanced mathematics courses requiring calculus or equivalent mathematics courses as a prerequisite. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
B. Combination of education and experience which includes courses equivalent to a major in mathematics (including at least 24 semester hours in mathematics), as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. My total course work includes differential and integral calculus and, in addition, four advanced mathematics courses requiring calculus or equivalent mathematics courses as a prerequisite. $59,534.00 - $77,396.00
