Job Summary

Performs continuing developmental duties and assignments in relation to problems concerned with test and/or evaluation of a wide variety of military systems and equipment.

Major Duties

  • Receives overall assignment, reviews design and user specifications, evaluation plans, and reviews and/or develops material performance criteria.
  • Develops cost estimates, test plans, schedules, coordinates support requirements, executes test and analyzes data accumulated.
  • Prepares schedules for tests and coordinates support requirements with test scheduling office and supporting organizational elements.
  • Receives laboratory and field performance data and analytical information from supporting organizations. Reviews the data collected for completeness, accuracy, and validity; and determines whether additional tests are required to satisfy test objectives.

For the GS-09 Grade level your resume must show one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level in the Federal Service performing the following duties; 1. Developing routine test projects encompassing military equipment, such as; ordnance, automotive, logistics, soldier systems or small arms; AND 2. Preparing reports on testing projects in the format prescribed by agency standards; AND 3. Conducting critical test phases to ensure safe and appropriate procedures are being employed. OR For the GS-11 grade your resume must show one year of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level in the Federal Service performing the following duties; 1)Interpreting/applying scientific and engineering guidelines to test and evaluation of military equipment; 2) Preparing report on testing procedures and findings to ensure engineering requirements are met; and 3) Analyzing/evaluating scientific data to obtain solution to engineering test problems. ***In addition to meeting the specialized experience, you must also meet the minimum/basic education requirement for this position. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

A. I have successfully completed a bachelor's degree in computer science.

OR

B. I have successfully completed a bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus OR Basic Education Requirement for Operations Research Analyst- 1515

A. A bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research.

OR

B. A bachelor's degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. OR Basic Education Requirement for Mathematician- 1520

A. A bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in mathematics; or a degree with the equivalent of a major that included at least 24 semester hours in mathematics. My total course work includes differential and integral calculus and, in addition, four advanced mathematics courses requiring calculus or equivalent mathematics courses as a prerequisite. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

OR

B. Combination of education and experience which includes courses equivalent to a major in mathematics (including at least 24 semester hours in mathematics), as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. My total course work includes differential and integral calculus and, in addition, four advanced mathematics courses requiring calculus or equivalent mathematics courses as a prerequisite. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
