Major Duties
Authority on technologies to improve cyber-protective material, integration of metamaterials, smart textiles for platforms and soldier science and technology decisions.
Provide information for decision making regarding nanomaterials, metamaterials, materials for energy storage and generation, and multi-functional materials.
Communicate scientific themes and concepts to senior leaders and to Congress.
Select technical objectives and plans the sequence of actions needed to complete the study or project.
Collaborate with scientific personnel from other laboratories, individuals in collective science and technology advisory personnel, academia, and test agencies to assist with solving problems of mutual interest.
Responsible for effective integration of Advanced Materials related science and technology efforts into Army's modernization efforts.
Qualifications
This position is being filled under the Expedited Hiring Authority (EHA) for Defense Acquisition Workforce Positions in accordance with 10 USC § 1705(g). This position is a TERM position. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management . This position may be converted to a permanent career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least two years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent. $106,443.00 - $138,380.00
