Job Summary
Serves in an Interdisciplinary position as a General Engineer, an Architect, a Civil Engineer, an Environmental Engineer, a Mechanical Engineer or an Electrical Engineer responsible for the execution of the Section 408 and Inspection of Completed Works (ICW) programs. This position will allow for situational telework only. This position is NOT eligible for full-time telework.
Major Duties
- Subject matter expert for the implementation of, tasks and work products and related efforts to deliver the district?s ICW and 408 programs, which consist of projects of greater technical complexity.
- Manages, oversees, coordinates, and reviews the analyses, studies, other technical products, and MVS decision for the alteration project(s).
- Manages the execution of complex, non-routine dam, levee and bridge safety modifications, inland navigation structure rehabilitations, engineering assessments, risk and reliability analyses, and infrastructure security.
- Coordinates diverse multi-disciplinary teams evaluating the performance of USACE infrastructure.
- Makes project presentations for the purpose of coordination and communication of project goals, status, issues, and other related topics.
- Recommends solutions to problems which may involve technical, administrative, and systemic changes.
- Confers with engineers in other organizational units engaged in various aspects of planning, engineering, design, and construction to resolve conflicts that can delay the timely completion of work.
- Communicates work requirements, ensures resources are available, including the necessary technical expertise.
- Provides advice, instruction, and answers questions on controversial or highly complex technical problems.
- Coordinates the planning, developing, building, and sustaining of a highly complex project within constraints of budgets and authorizations.
- Establishes annual program goals for project activities and develops annual budget requirements.
- The ability of oversee the development of manpower estimates and schedules necessary for establishing project budget and delivery schedules.

Architect 0808 series Minimum Qualifications for GS-12: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes recommending solutions and/or modifications to engineering work; coordinating project requirements and/or engineering work with team members; and analyzing engineering work to identify omissions, discrepancies, inadequacies, and/or nonconformance with approved criteria. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Minimum Qualifications for GS-13: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes evaluating engineering work to ensure its compliance with plans, designs, and/or specifications; tracking project schedules, resourcing, suspense dates, and/or milestones; and providing recommendations to modify standard practices, analyses, and/or technical projects for civil works projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Pay Range
$77,845.00 - $120,342.00
