Job Summary

You will serve as a Community Planner/Natural Resources Specialist in the Environmental Planning Division and Natural Resources Department, under the Assistant Chief of Staff, Environmental Security, MCIWEST-MCB, Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Pendleton, CA of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.

Major Duties

  • You will provide environmental planning expertise, and recommend a coordinated approach for the development of environmental and natural resources management plans to support facilities planning and land use activities on base.
  • You will develop action plans and action milestones to complete proposed projects' environmental assessments and analysis, and related studies and surveys.
  • You will provide technical guidance and regulatory interpretation in support of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation for projects, plans, and training exercises.
  • You will evaluate engineering, environmental and natural resources concerns in project planning to ensure early identification of environmental considerations in the scoping process
  • You will provide technical guidance and instruction to installation personnel regarding environmental planning programs and requirements.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing short and long term strategic environmental and natural resource planning for land use (e.g., Military installation land use, on-base, off-base); coordinating and integrating land use and natural resources planning (e.g., local and regional off-base planning concepts, initiatives and programs); AND providing environmental documentation and regulatory compliance guidance. Pay Range

$85,865.00 - $111,629.00
