Job Summary
In this position, you will be responsible to perform assignments within established budget and on schedule. Performs a diversity of assignments which include accomplishment of analysis, inspection, risk assessments, risk communication and task and project management for the Portland District Dam and Levee Safety Programs. Focus for this recruitment is Levee Safety Program experience and support, although some Dam Safety support is likely.
Major Duties
- Conducts field investigations and makes preliminary engineering reports on proposed sites for the purpose of obtaining first-hand knowledge of site specific problem areas.
- Evaluated and reviews proposed designs, construction plans, and contract specifications for impacts to dams and levees.
- Develops scopes, schedules, and budgets and tracks progress and execution of projects.
- Reports on budgets, schedules, and manpower needs to supervisor and Program Managers to accomplish assigned work.
- Performs periodic inspections of completed dams, levees, and revetment projects.
- Makes site investigations of local flood control or bank protection locations.
- Contributes to and performs risk assessments for dams and levee systems and communicates results to local sponsors and stakeholders.
- Provides technical reviews, field support, and oversight of the Dam Safety Instrumentation monitoring program.
- Primarily supports Levee Safety Program but support of Dam Safety Program is likely.

GS-12 Qualifications:To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as inspecting dams and levees, preparing inspection reports and other technical reports and memoranda for dams and levees and monitoring schedule and budget for tasks related to development of engineering products.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Pay Range
$68,309.00 - $106,442.00
