Job Summary
Serves as the Senior Regional technical advisor and specialist on Chemistry issues for the South Pacifiic Division, Sacramento Distrrict.
Major Duties
- Serves as the District Architecture and Engineering (A-E) Coordinator, technically responsible as the Engineering Expert within the A-E contract process and facilitating the engineering portion of the process.
- Interpret policies, regulations, and engineering criteria as they relate to the A-E contract process and provides such information to the Engineering Staff Elements.
- Act as top consultant and advisor to the Technical Division Chiefs and others on A-E and Professional Service contract problems often of considerable depth and complexity.
- Facilitate board meetings for pre-selection and selection of A-E firms for contracts and takes the lead in coordinating the negotiations and preparation of contract award documents.
- Facilitate A-E contract preparation and negotiation processes and pursuit of A-E liability issues.
- Furnish Engineering Division Chief with information in keeping them abreast of developments in the A-E contract process.
- Review the technical/engineering work of others involved in A-E contract process.

Selective Placement Factor: This position requires the possession of a current Professional Engineer registration State in the United States, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) planning and designing new construction, renovation or improvement projects; 2) reviewing design calculations, analyses, and drawings/specifications; AND 3) negotiating and administration of Construction and/or Architect-Engineer (A-E) contracts which includes the development of independent government estimates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Pay Range
$99,429.00 - $129,261.00
